Start your morning off with a spicy warm beverage, full of anti-inflammatory powerhouse ingredients.
I'm sure you have heard of golden lattes, or perhaps turmeric milk. They're all over Instagram these days, and for good reason. It's a spicy, yet delightful beverage that is so good for you. Read more about the health benefits of turmeric.
I thought I'd give it a go and after playing around with some spices, I think I've come up with a delicious version that reminds me of fall/winter flavorings, but of course you can enjoy this all year round!
Golden Spice Latte
1 heaping tbsp of fresh turmeric root, minced, or 2-3 tsp dried turmeric
1/2 tbsp fresh ginger root, minced, or 1 tsp dried ginger
1/4 tsp black pepper (this helps your body absorb the turmeric)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp all spice
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 cups non-dairy milk
4 pitted dates or 1 tbsp maple syrup
- Toss all ingredients into a blender and blitz until fully combined. About a minute or two.
- Pour mixture into a small saucepan over medium-high heat and heat until desired temperature.
- Serve immediately.
